Hello;

This is John Marichak, Superintendent of the Dunmore School District.

I am calling to inform everyone that we will be posting an instructional video on our District website (see below) regarding Google Classrooms.  This is for use by both parents and students.  You can log on with your child’s information.  All of this relevant information, such as user ID, passwords, class codes and so on will be distributed to your child at the orientation for the beginning of the school year.

We will use this platform in our Hybrid Instructional Model for this school year.  This does not pertain to our families who chose the 100% virtual option.

Please take some time to review the video.  It will help with the overall understanding, navigation, and communication for everyone.

If there are questions and concerns after viewing the video, please contact your child’s school so we can help clarify the process prior to the opening of school.

Thank You

REMINDER - FORMAL PLANNED INSTRUCTION

Hello,

This is John Marichak, Superintendent of the Dunmore School District.

This call is to remind everyone that by directive of the Pennsylvania Department of Education, we have transitioned to a formal planned instruction program.

We began the process on Monday, April 20, 2020.

This is no longer voluntary for students.  They must attend and participate.  Teachers take attendance and are reporting it to administration.  Timelines may be attached to assignments and consequences may result from failure to participate or complete assigned work.

Attendance is constituted by checking in with their teachers, participation in work, activities and assignments required by our teachers.

New information/content/curriculum is be part of the lessons offered by our teachers.

This program will work best if there is a support structure within the home.

If there are any problems that you are experiencing, please work with your child’s teacher, administrator or this office.  Problems may include access, technology, scheduling and so on.  We have people in place to troubleshoot these issues.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

More information may follow.

Please stay safe.

Thank You

John Marichak
